Woman hits, kills man with SUV in domestic dispute

One man is dead as a result of a domestic dispute in Minneapolis Saturday morning, the Minneapolis Police Department says.

Police say their early investigation indicates a dispute between two people who used to be in a relationship escalated when the woman hit the man with an SUV.

The man was walking near a sidewalk, and the woman left the road while driving.

Officers say they responded to the scene around 3:20 a.m. near First Avenue South and 17th Street East.

Upon arrival, police say they found the man with multiple injuries.

Officers provided aid until fire and emergency medical services arrived, then the man was taken to Hennepin Healthcare.

The man died at the hospital, police say.

State Patrol and the Minneapolis Police Forensic and Homicide divisions were at the scene.

The woman has not yet been charged but has been taken to jail.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release more information about the man, who is said to be in his 30s.
