Biden, Walz speak during Mondale memorial service

Sunday afternoon, a memorial service was held to remember one of Minnesota’s most well-known political figures.

The University of Minnesota is hosted the memorial service for Walter Mondale, the former vice president, Minnesota senator and state attorney general, who died last April at the age of 93.

Mondale was one of the architects of Minnesota’s liberal tradition and the man former President Jimmy Carter called “the best vice president in our country’s history.”

Several political leaders spoke during the memorial service, including President Joe Biden, Gov. Tim Walz, Minnesota’s U.S. Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith and Presidential Historian Jon Meacham.
