Trial set for St. Paul man accused of killing wife

A jury trial is now set for a St. Paul man charged with murder, Minnesota court documents say.

Arvid Harry Johnson, 65, was charged with one count of second degree murder in the killing of his wife, 66-year old Linda Johnson.

Ramsey County Judge Adam Yang will preside over the trial, which is currently scheduled for 9 a.m. on February 21, 2023.

Authorities found Linda Johnson dead with trauma around her head and face at a home near Dale Street North and Arlington Avenue West last January.

The defendant initially pleaded not guilty to charges.

Johnson was reported to be competent after evaluations performed in the spring.
