Teen dies from shooting in Target parking lot; 3 in custody

A 16-year-old boy who was found shot in the head Friday night in Savage has died, the Savage Police Department said in a news release.

The teen, who has yet to be identified, was found lying in a Target parking lot Friday evening.

Officers were called to the 14000 block of State Highway 13 around 7:30 p.m. on a report of someone lying in the northwest corner of the parking lot. When officers arrived, they saw the teen bleeding from the head. He was semi-conscious and breathing.

He was rushed to Hennepin County Medical Center, and he died from his injuries on Saturday, police said.

On Tuesday, three arrests were made in connection with the shooting.

Taran Cortez Miller, 44, of Prior Lake has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder; Tanya Marie Esthell Miller, 43, of Prior Lake, was arrested on suspicion of aiding an offender and second-degree murder; and an unnamed 16-year-old from Prior Lake was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder.

All three suspects are in custody in Scott County Jail pending formal charges.

This case remains under investigation.
