State Patrol: At least 1 dead in fiery Chisago Co. crash

UPDATE: Authorities say at least one person is dead following an early morning crash in Chisago County Thursday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol’s incident report, an eastbound semi on Highway 95 was hit by a southbound Ford Ranger that was traveling on Sunrise Road.

The report states the driver of the Ranger went through a stop sign, and hit the truck in the eastbound lanes of Highway 95.

Authorities say both vehicles caught fire, and one person was found dead in the Ford Ranger. No details have been given regarding if the person who was found dead is the driver or a passenger.

As of this time, there is no word on the condition of the driver of the semi.

The crash, which happened around 6:45 a.m., caused all lanes of Highway 95 to be closed from Keystone Avenue to just west of Taylors Falls.

No other details about the crash or crash victims were immediately available.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, investigators are at the scene of a fatal crash on Highway 95 at Sunrise Road in Sunrise Township.

The crash reportedly happened around 6:45 a.m. Thursday.

All lanes of highway 95 are closed from Keystone Avenue to just west of Taylors Falls for the next three hours.

An estimated reopening time and details regarding the number of vehicles and crash victims weren’t immediately provided.
