Shots fired incident in St. Paul leaves 2 in custody, no one injured
Police say two people are now in custody after an hours-long incident that caused a stretch of a major roadway to close in St. Paul early Tuesday.
According to St. Paul police, officers were called to an apartment complex at 95 North Lexington Parkway around 5:30 a.m. for a report of multiple shots being fired.
A number of officers have been seen coming to and from the area by a 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS photographer, who captured video at the intersection of Laurel Avenue and Dunlap Street.
Members of the SWAT team were also called in, and they helped evacuate residents, who were brought to a Metro Transit bus to stay warm.
Police add the arrests happened shortly before 8:30 a.m., initially telling 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that an adult and a teenager were taken into custody. However, around 1 p.m. Tuesday, police issued a correction, saying both people who were arrested are minors.
According to police, no one was injured, and their investigation is still ongoing.
Streets in the area were also blocked off for a period of time.
