Police: Man arrested after 5-hour standoff in St. Paul

St. Paul police say a man is in custody after a five-hour standoff.

According to police, officers were called to a home in the 1200 block of Seventh Street East Monday morning for an incident that included violent threats.

There, officers learned the suspect was possibly armed and isolated in the home’s attic.

Police secured the area and called in SWAT and negotiators for help.

The incident was contained to the home and, after five hours, the man was peacefully arrested, according to police.

The case is under investigation.
