Motorcyclist in hospital after collision with SUV in Oakdale Saturday night

One man sustained life-threatening injuries after a crash between a SUV and a motorcycle around 9:15 p.m. Saturday in Oakdale.

A Chevrolet Suburban was driving west and a Harley Davidson motorcycle was driving east on Stillwater Boulevard in the moments before the incident, Minnesota State Patrol said.

Both vehicles were entering the intersection during a green light.

Authorities said the SUV then turned in front of the motorcycle, causing a collision in the middle of the intersection of North Geneva/Century Avenue and East Stillwater Boulevard.

The motorcyclist, a 52-year-old man, was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

The man was not wearing a helmet, the crash report stated.

No further details on his condition have been released.

The SUV driver, a 38-year-old woman, was not hurt.

Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the incident.

Oakdale Police, Oakdale Fire, Maplewood Police and the Minnesota Department of Transportation also provided assistance.
