1 injured during overnight Minneapolis shooting

UPDATE: Police say one person is recovering from a gunshot wound Wednesday after being shot in the arm overnight in Minneapolis.

According to Minneapolis police, officers were called to the area of S. 4th Street and Marquette Avenue just before 2 a.m. for a report of shots being fired.

When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot in the arm. His injuries were considered to be non-life-threatening, and he was hospitalized.

According to police, their initial report indicates a verbal fight between groups of people escalated to shots being fired.

Police say one gun was recovered, and they are still investigating the incident. No one is in custody as of this time.

INITIAL REPORT: Minneapolis police have released few details about an overnight investigation.

The incident happened outside the Downtown Cabaret on Fourth Street near Marquette Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS photographer saw multiple officers and police squads outside the club.

In addition, bullet casings and evidence markers were spotted on the ground.

A damaged vehicle was parked nearby.

Police haven’t said what happened, or if anyone was hurt.
