A Sherwin-Williams store employee is in the hospital after he was shot on Tuesday. Minneapolis police say he was trying to help a woman outside the business along Lake Street in Minneapolis.

A person who knows the good Samaritan says that he is expected to be okay.

“He was trying to be a good Samaritan and help a lady that was getting car-jacked. I mean, it’s a sad thing,” said Alex Kisling, a witness.

Kisling works nearby and says he isn’t surprised. It happened on the same day Minneapolis police sent out an alert saying robberies and carjacking are on the rise.

“I’m from not the greatest neighborhood; my house has actually been shot at before. It’s nothing really new to me,” said Kisling.

The bloodstains are still on the sidewalk.

“It’s sad. We get a lot of paint from Sherwin-Williams, and it’s sad. They’re nice guys,” said Antonio Williams, a customer.

Police say it was three suspects in a black Grand Cherokee fleeing the scene in broad daylight.
