Charges: Fatal north Minneapolis shooting happened after argument about marijuana possession

A Minneapolis man who recently got out of prison is now accused in a fatal north Minneapolis shooting.
Court documents show that 23-year-old Clifton Dawayne Latimore Ingram is charged with second-degree intentional murder in connection to a shooting Thursday afternoon.

According to Minneapolis police, officers responded to a shooting report on Banneker Avenue North, near North 11th and Fremont avenues, at around 12:35 p.m. There, they found a woman in her 20s suffering from at least one gunshot wound to her head and a wound to her chest, court documents state. She died at the scene.
The woman’s roommate told police that Ingram was the person who shot her, adding that the victim had gotten upset with Ingram about having marijuana on her table and, as they argued, Ingram pulled out a revolver and shot the woman twice before running away.
Ingram was arrested at around 7 p.m. Thursday at a home less than 2 miles from where the shooting happened. There, officers also seized several items, including a revolver, ammunition and marijuana, a search warrant states.
Other court documents show Ingram was recently released from prison after being sentenced to four years for illegal gun possession in January 2020.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office hasn’t yet publicly identified the woman who was killed but determined she died from the shot to her chest, the complaint states.
It’s the city’s 76th homicide of the year, according to police.
Ingram is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Monday afternoon in connection to the murder charge.
