2nd teen dies after Barron County crash

A second teen has died after a rollover crash involving four teenagers happened Monday in western Wisconsin.

An update from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office Thursday morning reports the 15-year-old girl who had been taken to Regions Hospital died Wednesday night.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those affected from this incident,” the update from the sheriff’s office reads, in part.

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS previously reported the Monday night crash touched the community of Cameron, which is less than 10 miles south of Rice Lake.

Authorities say a 16-year-old boy was driving with three teenage girls inside the vehicle when it rolled at around 7 p.m. Monday.

In addition to the 15-year-old girl who died Wednesday, 14-year-old Evah Garcia was airlifted to the hospital. Garcia also later died from her injuries.

Another 14-year-old girl was also hurt. As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s office reported she had a serious arm injury but was in stable condition at a Marshfield hospital.

As of Wednesday, the driver remained in custody at the juvenile detention center.
