US Attorney’s Office: 2 charged with attempting to bring contraband into Minnesota federal prison

Two men face charges after authorities say they attempted to provide contraband in a federal prison in Minnesota.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 46-year-old Lee Anthony Fisher was charged with one count of providing contraband in prison and 28-year-old Curtis Brent Carico was charged with one count of attempting to obtain contraband in prison.

Federal prosecutors say, in January, Fisher attempted to provide drugs to Carcio while he was incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution in Sandstone.

If convicted, both could receive a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
