The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the Stillwater Lift Bridge is temporarily closed as workers make repairs to the bridge.

According to the agency, the bridge will be closed to pedestrians and bicyclists from 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 19 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 21 as an electrical cable that powers the left span is replaced.

In addition, any boats and watercraft taller than nine feet won’t be able to pass under the bridge, which crosses the St. Croix River.

The bridge is part of a nearly five-mile long loop trail in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
