St. Louis Park fire out, resident in custody after hours-long standoff

A suspect in a fire at a St. Louis Park building was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon following a several-hour standoff.

According to the St. Louis Park Police Department, officers and firefighters were called to the 5600 block of Camerata Way shortly before 9 a.m. for a water flow alarm Tuesday.

When they arrived, they found smoke on the third floor and a fire in a trash room located on the first floor, which was quickly extinguished.
