St. Cloud stabbing leaves 1 injured, 1 in custody

Police say one person is recovering from injuries not considered to be life-threatening and another is in custody following a stabbing Thursday afternoon in St. Cloud.

According to St. Cloud police, officers were called to the 1200 block of Sixth Avenue South just after 2:30 p.m. for a report of a stabbing.

An investigation reportedly showed the 22-year-old St. Cloud man was stabbed in the lower leg after getting into an altercation with an acquaintance inside a vehicle. He was then taken to a nearby hospital.

The suspect, identified as a 20-year-old St. Cloud man, had left the area before police arrived, but was eventually found nearby.

As he was arrested, police say they found he was possessing controlled substances.

He is being held at the Stearns County Jail for charges related to the stabbing and possessing controlled substances.
