Robbinsdale man sentenced to 40 years for killing ex-girlfriend
A Robbinsdale man has been sentenced to four decades behind bars for the 2020 murder of his ex-girlfriend.
Court documents show that 40-year-old Erik Paul Eggleston was sentenced to 40 years (480 months) at the St. Cloud Correctional Facility for the death of 29-year-old Nigar Mammadzada. Eggleston received 531 days credit for time already served.
Mammadzada’s mother found her daughter dead with multiple shotgun wounds when she came home from work on Nov. 12, 2020, according to a criminal complaint. Mammadzada’s mother told police she suspected Eggleston killed her daughter because they’d recently broken up, and Eggleston had the code to get into the garage.
