MPRB Superintendent Al Bangoura said in the news release “We’re looking forward to this project team working with North Minneapolis residents and bringing them into the design process.”

The new community center and waterpark are central parts of the North Service Area Master Plan that sets the agenda for all parks in North Minneapolis.

Construction is planned for 2023-2024 and will have an estimated cost of $19-22 million.
