A group of Minnesota National Guard soldiers returned home on Wednesday.

The soldiers were gone for nearly a year, serving in the Middle East. Part of their mission was securing the Kabul airport in Afghanistan during the withdrawal of American troops and civilians.

The soldiers arrived at the Cottage Grove Armory and were greeted by family and friends.

The first round of soldiers arrived back home on Friday at Camp Ripley.
