It is the end of an era for one Minneapolis store.

After 115 years on Lake Street, Schatzlein Saddle Shop is closing.

The family-owned western wear store opened in 1907.

Many longtime customers returned on Monday after the store posted its closing on Facebook.

“We went through it all through the years,” owner Peggy Schatzlein said. “We’re survivors. Good Germans.”

The family says they’re closing because it is time to retire.

The store is holding a 25% off sale until it shuts down at the end of September.
