Milwaukee man arrested in carjacking, shooting of St. Paul rideshare driver

A Milwaukee man has been arrested in connection to a carjacking and shooting that injured a rideshare driver in St. Paul last week, police say.

According to St. Paul police, 26-year-old Anthony Batton Harris has been arrested and is expected to be charged with attempted second-degree murder. He turned himself in to police in Milwaukee after speaking to St. Paul investigators, police say.

St. Paul Police said officers responded to a report of a possible hit-and-run at around 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 17 near Flandrau Street North and Old Hudson Road. There, officers found a rideshare driver who said the passengers he’d picked up shot him, pushed him out of his SUV and then drove it away.

The victim was taken to Regions Hospital and treated for multiple gunshot wounds. Fortunately, police say he’s expected to survive.
