Memorial service for former Minnetonka Assistant Fire Chief to be held Friday

The former Assistant Fire Chief in Minnetonka will be remembered Friday.

A memorial service for Jim Flanders is being Friday morning.

As previously reported by 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS, Flanders died unexpectedly at his home Saturday at the age of 59 due to a heart attack.

Last year, Flanders received the Spirit of Minnetonka award, which is given to the city’s Employee of the Year.

An obituary states visitation begins at 9 a.m. at Hopkins High School, and a memorial service is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
