Man shot 9 times in Northeast Minneapolis drive-by Tuesday night, police investigating

A man sustained nine potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds Tuesday night, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.

Investigators say that the man was walking on 23rd Avenue Northeast between Jefferson Street and Madison Street Northeast when a car pulled up alongside him at about 9:15 p.m. Shots were then fired from the car, and the vehicle left the area.

The victim is reportedly a man in his 30s. He was taken to Hennepin Healthcare for his injuries, according to police.

No other victims have been identified, and no arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
