Man killed in Phillips neighborhood shooting identified

A 29-year-old man who died Saturday night after being shot in Minneapolis’ Phillips neighborhood has been identified.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Christian Edward Lyons. His cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds and it was ruled the city’s 37th homicide of the year.

Minneapolis police said officers found Lyons near Cedar Avenue South and EM Stately Street at around 9:50 p.m. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

No arrests have been announced.
