Major league eater Joey Chestnut aims for world record Saturday at MN rib festival

The greatest eater in history is going for one of his own world records on Saturday in Minnesota.

At 2 p.m., Major League Eating (MLE) competitor Joey Chestnut will headline the Great Midwest Rib Fest World Rib Eating Championship in hopes of eating 14 pounds of pork.

According to his MLE bio, Chestnut ate 13.76 pounds of rib meat in just 12 minutes in 2013.

That statistic is among the 55 world records Chestnut holds, according to MLE.

Chestnut is best known for his hot dog eating superiority, especially when it comes to the annual Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Saturday, he will attend the final day of the pork-inspired festival at Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake.

Admission is free to the public, and Saturday events run from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Visit the festival website for more information.
