Lowry Avenue Bridge to be illuminated in honor of MLK Day
The Lowry Avenue Bridge will be illuminated Monday night in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Hennepin County said the bridge will shine red, white and blue in observance of the holiday.
Most state and county offices are closed Monday for the holiday, which celebrates the life and achievements of the civil rights leader Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
The holiday was observed in all 50 states for the first time in 1993, according to the Associated Press.
