Investigation stemming from THC-laced brownie leads to arrest of Spicer woman, wanted man

Authorities say a 24-year-old man wanted by the Minnesota Department of Corrections, as well as a 23-year-old woman, are in custody after a search warrant was executed at a Spicer apartment.

According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation began after a possible drug overdose related to a brownie laced with THC at an Atwater home Thursday.

While investigating, authorities say they executed a search warrant at the apartment, where they arrested the duo, adding the woman lives at the apartment.

During a search of the apartment, half an ounce of methamphetamine, a cake pan filled with more than one-and-a-half pound’s worth of THC-laced brownies, 12 ounces of marijuana wax/hash oil and more than five pounds of marijuana was found, the sheriff’s office says.

Formal drug and firearm-related charges are pending, and both people are being held at the Kandiyohi County Jail.

Multiple agencies were involved in the investigation and search, including the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force and the Kandi-Meeker SWAT team.
