A Fond Du Lac man was sentenced to prison Monday after pleading guilty to firing a gun in a school zone.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Shelby Gene Boswell was sentenced to just over nine years in prison (110 months).
Boswell pleaded guilty in September to firing a gun in a school zone and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Boswell ran into a funeral service with a gun and shot a person in the back of the head. The victim survived their injuries.
According to his plea, Boswell discharged a firearm on the grounds of the Fond du Lac Head Start, which is within 1,000 feet of the grounds of Fond du Lac Ojibwe High School.
