Capuchin monkey reported stolen from Cub Foods parking lot in Maplewood

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a capuchin monkey that was reported stolen from a woman’s car Tuesday at a Cub Foods store in Maplewood.

According to the Maplewood Police Department, the monkey, Coco Chanel, was left inside a vehicle in a pink carrier in the Cub Foods parking lot at 2390 White Bear Avenue North. When Coco Chanel’s owner returned, the monkey and its pink carrier were no longer in the vehicle.

Anyone who noticed suspicious activity Tuesday night between 8 and 8:30 p.m. in that area or has information on Coco’s whereabouts is asked to call Lt. Joe Steiner at 651-249-2608 or email him at joe.steiner@maplewoodmn.gov.
