A Burnsville nonprofit received a big donation over the weekend to help in their mission.

360 Communities got a $15,000 gift from local engineering firm Power Engineers Inc. The organization offers food and housing support and says the funds will help in its goal to fight hunger and housing instability.

“We were looking for ways for ways to give back, and if we can’t get together ourselves, we wanted to give back to the community and help out each other out,” said Kelly Charles, regional manager of Power Engineers.

Power Engineers’ donation on Sunday is part of the company’s effort to give more than $500,000 to food banks across the country.
