Blaine man dies after being struck by SUV

Tuesday evening just after 8:30 p.m., emergency personnel responded to 119th Avenue in Blaine on reports that a person had been struck by a vehicle.

Blaine police say that initial information indicates a 44-year-old Matthew Brian Johnson had been laying in the road next to a moped when he was run over by an SUV.

When first responders found Johnson, they attempted lifesaving measures. He was then taken to a hospital, where he later died.

It is unclear how Johnson ended up on the ground in the roadway.

The driver of the SUV, identified as an adult female, hasn’t been taken into custody or formally charged.

The incident is under investigation.
