About 300 employees laid off from multiple MRCI Minnesota facilities

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) said on Tuesday its Rapid Response team received a letter from Managed Resource Connections, Inc. (MRCI) stating permanent layoffs of about 300 employees from multiple facilities in the state.

Facilities are located in Mankato, New Ulm, Fairmont, Owatonna, Chaska, Shakopee and Rosemount.

Employee layoffs began in mid-March due to COVID-19, unforeseeable business circumstances, and the uncertainty of when the Department of Human Services and the Department of Health will allow for licensed services to resume.

DEED says it's unclear if these employees are represented by a union.
