4 displaced by Thanksgiving Day fire in north Minneapolis

A Thanksgiving Day fire left four people without a home Thursday night in north Minneapolis.

The Minneapolis Fire Department says crews were called to a house fire around 7:05 p.m. on Bryant Avenue North between 46th and 47th avenues.

When they got to the scene, crews saw smoke coming from the basement and extinguished the fire.

However, the department says the fire caused extensive damage to the home, which was deemed uninhabitable.

The Red Cross was called to help the four residents, who were able to escape the home without injury.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
