3 teens arrested, charged for stealing vehicle, purses across Edina and Minneapolis

Edina police say three teens have been arrested and charged following multiple thefts in Edina and Minneapolis throughout the past week.

According to police, an Audi Q3 sport utility vehicle was reported stolen Saturday, July 23, from an Edina business.

Officials say that vehicle was then used in five separate incidents involving stolen purses across Edina and Minneapolis within 48 hours. They add three incidents happened in the area of 50th Street and France Avenue, which spans both cities.

The three teens — all boys — were arrested Monday. They have all been charged with felony robbery and theft.

Extra patrols have been added to the area of 50th and France, according to police, who also reminded citizens to always be aware of their surroundings, limit phone usage while walking to and from vehicles and keep an eye on belongings and not leave them unattended.
