St. Paul Park company recalls salad mix due to listeria concern

A St. Paul Park-based company is recalling roughly 905 pounds of ready-to-eat salad mix due to a listeria concern.

Northern Tier Bakery, LLC, is recalling the following salad mixes, which were produced from May 18-June 8 and were distributed to locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin:

  • 4-oz. plastic packages of “Supermom’s Kitchen Chef Salad – egg, white turkey meat, ham, Monterey jack & cheddar cheese with crisp romaine & green leaf lettuce” with “enjoy through” dates of June 9 and June 11 on the label.
  • 4.3-oz. plastic packages of “Supermom’s Kitchen Caesar Salad – seasoned chicken breast strips, parmesan cheese & crouton packet with crisp romaine & green leaf lettuce” with “enjoy through” dates of May 26, 28, 31 and June 2, 4, 8, 9, 11, 14 and 16 printed on the label.

Those with these salad mix packages are advised to throw them out or return them to the place of purchase.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these salad mixes. Anyone with concerns is advised to contact a healthcare provider.

Listeria is a bacteria that can cause fever, headache, abdominal pain and diarrhea, and more dangerous complications in pregnant women.
