MDH: 11 new COVID-19 deaths, 2,693 new cases

On Monday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported:

  • 11 new deaths from COVID-19*
  • 2,693 newly-reported positive COVID-19 tests*

*Data posted on Mondays represents data as of 4 a.m. on Fridays

Additionally, MDH said:

  • Over 6.28 million COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered
  • Over 3.16 million people have completed the vaccine series
  • 72.4% of those 16 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine

Gov. Tim Walz said on Monday that over 46,000 students ages 12 to 17 have received their initial COVID-19 vaccination dose.

Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported, as of Monday, 83 counties in Minnesota remained at a high level of COVID-19 community transmission. Another four counties are considered at a substantial spread.

According to the CDC, counties in red have a high level of community transmission, in orange have a substantial level, in yellow have a moderate level and in blue have a low level.
