MDH: 14 new COVID-19 deaths, 2,268 new cases

Saturday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported 14 new deaths from COVID-19, as well as 2,268 newly reported positive COVID-19 tests.

Of the 2,268 newly reported cases, 18 were noted as probable cases, and 2,250 were confirmed cases, according to MDH.

So far, 2,328 people have died of the coronavirus in Minnesota. Twelve of those deaths are also listed as probable COVID-19 deaths.

To date, 9,444 COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized in Minnesota and 2,533 patients have been in the ICU.

According to MDH, the 2,268 newly reported positive COVID-19 tests in Minnesota on Saturday moved the state’s total to 132,122 since pandemic record-keeping began.

A total of 369 probable cases have been reported since antigen testing began.

Meanwhile, a total of 116,693 patients have recovered, or are recovering, and no longer need isolation, according to MDH.

As of Saturday, more than 2.6 million Minnesotans have been tested for COVID-19.

According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected more than 42.3 million people worldwide and killed over 1.1 million people.

More than 28.6 million people worldwide have recovered as of Satuday .

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report having muscle aches, headache, sore throat, and/or chills and shaking.
