State leaders gave a formula for districts to look at based on how many COVID-19 cases per population that their county is seeing:
Based on the most recent data and recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health collected from Feb. 7 through Feb. 20, three Minnesota counties have more than 50 cases per 10,000.
According to the state's Safe Learning Model, those counties would fall under the recommendation to conduct full distance learning for students.
Eleven counties qualify for the state's recommendation for in-person learning for all students.
