Yoga and a Pint in St. Paul collecting money for victims of Australian wildfires

The death toll from the wildfires raging across Australia is now up to at least 27 after a firefighter was killed by a falling tree this week.

The vast fires have destroyed more then 2,000 homes and scorched more than 15 million acres.

Around the world, a Twin Cities woman is helping raise money for wildfire victims.

Every weekend Viv Miller holds Yoga and a Pint at Lake Monster Brewing in St. Paul.

Since it started four years ago, the event has raised about $10,000 for charities. For the next few months, the class is collecting money for the victims of the Australian wildfires.

"People literally bring in their change," Miller said. "We fill up a growler. I bring it to the bank and dump it. A portion of all my proceeds goes to charity, plus whatever people can give on their own and it really makes a difference."

Yoga and a Pint is held 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
