Wells Fargo is cutting more than 400 jobs at its Shoreview Operations Center, the company told the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development on Friday.

The company said it plans to deliver written notices to about 405 team members in November, according to the notice provided to the state jobs agency. However, the employees have already been verbally notified. The jobs are officially expected to start being eliminated in January.

Wells Fargo said the decision came after "a recent review of the contact center footprint" in a statement to KSTP. The job cuts include team members who support customer service through phone, email, social and other virtual channels, the company said. All other lines of business at the Shoreview location will keep their positions. The company also said the work will be picked up by other contact center locations.

A statement issued to KSTP said the company will help team members find other job opportunities within the company or local community, and eligible members will have the opportunity to accept a relocation package and move to another location that has hiring needs.
