Target's annual car seat trade-in event starts Monday.

The program offers a 20 percent off coupon toward new car seat purchases for customers who trade in old car seats.

The event runs through May 4.

Target's website says the company will accept and recycle all types of car seats, convertible seats, car seat bases, harness or booster car seats and car seats that are expired or damaged, with Waste Management then recycling the old materials.

Target first started the program in 2016, and has since recycled about 500,000 car seats, according to its website.

You can find a participating store near you here.
