Target Corporation has announced plans to remodel nine stores in the Twin Cities metro area this year.

The remodeling project, which a release said will mean an investment of around $50 million, is part of the company's broader plans to remodel more than 1,000 stores across the country by the end of 2020.

The renovations at the metro area stores will range in scope, but are expected to include enhancements to merchandise displays, specialty lighting, separate order pickup and guest service counters and the addition of a nursing space, the release said.

The Twin Cities area locations scheduled to be remodeled in 2019 are in Bloomington, Crystal, Shakopee, Buffalo, Eagan, Stillwater, Cottage Grove, Edina and Vadnais Heights.
