Tampons recalled due to unraveling, pieces being left in body

Kimberly-Clark is recalling a number of tampons due to reports of the product unraveling or coming apart upon removal, according to the company. 

The company recalled U by Kotex SleekTampons, Regular Absorbency, that have been sold throughout the U.S. and Canada. 


The recall is limited to the product that was manufactured between Oct. 7, 2016 and Oct. 16, 2018 and distributed between Oct. 17, 2016 and Oct. 23, 2018.

According to Kimberly-Clark, it has received reports from consumers that the tampons have unraveled or come apart upon removal. In some cases, users have had to seek medical attention to remove pieces left in the body, according to the company. 

Those who have the U by Kotex SleekTampons, Regular Absorbency, are asked to stop using the product and contact Kimberly-Clark's Consumer Service team at 1-888-255-3499
