Newell Brands announced Tuesday that it plans to sell Jostens.

According to a news release from Newell Brands, officials with the company signed a definitive agreement to sell the Jostens to Platinum Equity, a global investment firm. 


Jostens, a Twin Cities-based company, is known for the sale of commemorative products.

According to Newell Brands, the gross proceeds from the sale are expected to be $1.3 billion. 

Along with the sale of Jostens, Newell Brands is also selling Pure Fishing. Pure Fishing owns a number of well-known fishing brands, including Abu Garcia, Berkley, Fenwick, Pflueger, Ugly Stik and more.
