BMW Recalls a Number of Vehicles Due to Fire Risk

BMW of North America is recalling a number of vehicle models due to a fire risk, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. 

The NHTSA has reported BMW has recalled the BMW 328d and 328d xDrive made between 2013 and 2018, 328d Sports Wagon, the BMW 328d Sports Wagon and 328d xDrive Sports Wagon made between 2014 and 2018, the BMW 535d and 535d xDrive made between 2014 and 2016, the 2015 BMW 740Ld xDrive, the BMW X3 xDrive28d SAV made between 2015 and 2017 and the X5 xDrive35d SAV made between 2014 and 2017.

The NHTSA said the recall is due to a possible coolant leak that can mix with diesel engine soot. 

The recall is expected to begin Dec. 17. Owners can contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
