State fair officials ready to hire through job fair

With roughly a month and a half until the Great Minnesota Get-Together, fair officials are seeking people to help the 12-day event run smoothly.

Organizers said there are about 500 job openings for a variety of positions at the Minnesota State Fair this year.

The jobs pay between $9-$11 per hour and as a perk, those hired will receive free admission.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old and must be available for work all 12 days of the fair.

A job fair will take place from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Fair officials said applicants can begin lining up at 3 p.m. outside the Progress Center and that anyone in line by 7:45 p.m. will have a chance to participate in the job fair. Resumes are not required, fair officials added.
