Do not drive recall issued for some 2021 Subaru Imprezas

Subaru of America issued a do not drive notice and a recall on some 2021 Impreza vehicles Wednesday, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The affected cars — 802 Model Year 2021 Imprezas — have a lower control arm weld on the front driver’s side that may fail. If the weld failed, the tire and wheel well could make contact, leading to a loss of control and potential crash.

Visit the NHTSA’s website or call the Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 and enter the vehicle’s VIN to see if it is under the recall. If so, Subaru advises that people do not drive the vehicle until a recall repair is finished. Subaru’s customer service center is also accepting calls at 844-373-6614.
