Clemson and Pittsburgh are the early season surprises in the topsy-turvy ACC. Clemson is atop the conference at 5-0 through the opening weeks of conference play, followed by the Panthers at 4-1. Both programs began the season with modest expectations. The Tigers were picked to finish 11th and Pitt was picked to finish 14th in the 15-team ACC. First-year Duke coach Jon Scheyer says Clemson and Pitt’s early success is proof of the depth in one of the nation’s top conferences.
