HOUSTON (AP) — Houston rookie cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. and rookie running back Dameon Pierce have been placed on the injured list. Their seasons are effectively over. Stingley was the third overall pick in the draft, and has missed the last four games with a strained hamstring. Pierce has been one of the few bright spots on this struggling team that has won just one game this season. The fourth-round pick from Florida sustained a sprained ankle last weekend in Houston’s loss to Dallas. Houston plays Kansas City on Sunday.
