EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) — The two coaches set to face off in the College Football Playoff championship game, Kirby Smart of the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs and Sonny Dykes of the No. 3 TCU Horned Frogs, each called for changes to the recruiting calendar during a news conference a day ahead of the title game. Dykes said he had six players on campus for official visits this week during preparations for the game, which reflects the significance of the transfer portal. SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey suggested eliminating the December early signing period for high school recruits.
